We are God’s servants, working together. 1 Corinthians 3:9. Our scripture was so evident in the hearts of the entire team during Women’s Walk #51 that the eleven pilgrims felt completely the love of God throughout their three days on the mountain. During training we viewed the history of the Emmaus movement, and previewed the new Thursday night video, which set the tone of following Christ. On the walk, the young and talented Music Team introduced new contemporary songs, and we used Power Point slides for the words. Each speaker brought creativity, insight and inspiring stories to their talks, which were sprinkled with laughter and tears. The support of the team and community to the scholarship fund was encouraging, and Candlelight was like heaven, there were so many people holding candles! I was blessed to see the light on the pilgrims’ faces at Closing as they testified to the power and presence of God transforming their lives. May their Fourth Day continue in abundant joy! Trish Gray, Lay Director Women’s Walk 51
I am pleased to report that WRE Walk to Emmaus #50 was a great success! We had 8 great Pilgrims, all of whom have a heart for God and discipleship. The conference room ran smoothly throughout the weekend. We were blessed with some of the best talks I have ever heard. The four table groups bonded quickly and had great discussions. The poster parties demonstrated that the Pilgrims “got it”. The posters were very creative and we had some great skits! Of course, Dying Moments was a moving experience for all, and spirits were high afterwards. The prayer chapel kept us all centered and the power of prayer was strongly evident. The clergy did a great job of leading us in worship and supporting any who were in need. The support team kept everything in the background working smoothly. After Saturday dinner, we were entertained by a call-in show to the radio station KGOD, 3:16 on your radio dial. To say it was funny would be an understatement for sure. All in all, a great success! The Body of Christ has been improved. Many home churches and communities will now have better, stronger disciples working among them. I also believe that in the fall, we will have some new team members. God Bless and De Colores! Dan Branaman, Lay Director – Walk #50

LEADERSHIP in action. To see the “team” geared up and ready to go. To see things accomplished. To see the purpose achieved. We have all seen how important LEADERSHIP is to an Emmaus community. Which is why I am so excited about the LEADERSHIP Development opportunities for our Region on August 5 & 6. Plan to attend this wonderful event!
